Home/The Ice Age Came? And I Just Got Married?!/ch 110
Chapter 110.
"Stop the attack. I can't bear to see more soldiers die in vain."
"Who are you to decide?"
Captain Kaelan, standing near Russell, answered. He was a White Veil agent sent to monitor Russell.
Russell frowned in irritation.
How do I deal with this man?
He was a constant obstruction. The troops were split between those following Russell and those following Kaelan, making command a mess.
How was he supposed to win a battle with a command structure like this?
Russell stepped back—as if to say, Fine, you give the orders.
Just then, Logan and the reinforcements were barely a few dozen meters away.
"We outnumber them! Don't be afraid! Forward! Forward!"
At Kaelan's shout, the soldiers roared.
"HOOOAAAH!"
Hundreds of troops charged across the snow.
But the cheer didn't last.
CRASH!
The lead soldier was hurled into the air as if struck by an invisible hammer.
What followed was close to a massacre.
A black arc split the blizzard—Logan's greatsword.
With each swing, the white snowfield turned red.
CRUNCH!
Three soldiers collapsed at once.
CRACK!
Spears and shields splintered like paper.
There was no front line left in his path—only fallen soldiers and a blood-soaked snowfield.
"M-Monster!"
Someone screamed.
Ten days into the battle, everyone knew Logan was a monster.
But the soldiers behind couldn't stop—because snow monsters were chasing them from behind.
Stop and be devoured—advance and face Logan's blade.
It was a hell of no escape.
Just then—
RUMBLE—
This time, the ground shook.
At first, they thought it was the snow monsters' footsteps. But the tremor grew, and from the soldiers' feet, snowflower-shaped ice began to spread.
CRACK—
The snow-covered earth split.
And—
CRASH—!
A massive ice wall tore through the ground, rising dozens of meters high and blocking the soldiers' retreat.
"Wh-What?"
"We're trapped!"
The soldiers' faces went pale as they turned around.
Hemmed in from all sides, they were completely surrounded.
Russell swallowed a bitter laugh—he'd expected this.
On the ice wall stood a woman, backlit by the blizzard. Silver hair whipped in the wind, and cold blue light radiated from her feet.
Eve Rania Cheshwind.
Russell recognized her instantly—the woman he'd studied in photographs.
She raised her hand lightly.
RUMBLE—
This time, hundreds of ice pillars rose from all sides, not a wall. Like a massive fortress enclosing the battlefield, it became a giant cage.
Logan ahead, Eve behind—and snow monsters tangled in between.
The snow monsters wasted no time slipping between the pillars and attacking the soldiers.
"AAAAH!"
"Snow monsters!"
"The rear is blocked too!"
"We're surrounded!"
The formation collapsed instantly.
Russell sighed—if he'd just retreated when he said, this wouldn't have happened.
Then, something caught his eye—a man beside Eve. A priest's robe, a sled carrying something large wrapped in cloth—following Eve.
It was none other than Julian Wesley Everhart.
---
Clare and Leon were covering Logan, wiping out the White Veil forces.
She kept glancing at him—a ticking time bomb, about to explode.
His body was tattered with wounds, yet he kept fighting.
Pinkstone healing was useless—he refused it.
He seemed like someone trying to drown his pain in battle.
His memory must still be gone.
The Logan she remembered wouldn't have waited so quietly—he would have done something far more drastic.
He was walking forward, fixed on one point—Eve, who had appeared from the forest and struck the White Veil forces from behind.
She's back!
Clare felt a surge of emotion and pressed her lips together.
Eve was special to her—someone she wanted to serve, the first person she'd felt that way about.
She'd been devastated by the news of Eve's disappearance, but despair soon turned into faith—baseless, yet she believed Eve would return.
And she wasn't the only one.
Clare looked at the back of Logan's head. Even without memory, this man followed his instincts where Eve was concerned—and he'd been waiting.
So she knew Eve would be safe.
Her eyes reddened, but this wasn't the time for sentiment.
The reunion would wait—first, they needed to capture the White Veil forces.
"Even if you let the soldiers go, make sure to capture their leaders."
Marcus's orders echoed in her mind as she scanned the battlefield.
Among the fleeing soldiers, some tried to maintain formation—giving orders, not fighting, controlling the troops.
Found them.
Two commanders.
They were trapped inside Eve's ice wall. Snow monsters had turned it into chaos, but the commanders soon rallied the soldiers, driving back the nearby monsters—a brief lull.
Eve just watched them.
Clare turned toward them—but Logan blocked her path.
"I'll."
He murmured.
"I'll do it."
But his gaze was still fixed on Eve.
Clare stepped forward firmly.
"No—you can't kill the commanders."
Logan's eyes finally met hers.
"Giving orders?"
"No."
"Can't you see Eve behind them?"
She looked again—the commanders were close to Eve.
But she wasn't worried—Eve had Winterstones.
"Hah—you're in the way."
Logan muttered lowly.
"White Veil bastards."
He rubbed the back of his neck and looked ahead.
"Move aside."
Clare hesitated—his eyes were dangerous.
He's still unhinged.
Would he be okay?
"I won't kill them—move."
She stepped aside.
In an instant, Logan vanished.
BOOM—!
Snow exploded—a cloud rose where he'd stood, leaving only deep footprints.
When Clare turned, it was too late.
CRUNCH—!
One commander's guard was hurled through the air like a battering ram, crashing into soldiers behind him and sliding dozens of meters before stopping.
"Wh-What the hell?!"
Kaelan raised his gun in panic—but Logan was already in front of him.
CLANG—!
Logan knocked the gun aside with his greatsword and tilted his head with a grin.
"Finally met you—took ten days. Fun time, wasn't it?"
"D-Duke..."
Kaelan, who had coldly driven his soldiers into hell, finally showed fear when facing Logan.
"You were looking for my wife?"
The moment he met Logan's bloodthirsty red eyes, Kaelan was crushed by an overwhelming pressure. He gritted his teeth.
Logan tilted his head.
"Her husband is right here—and you dare try to take her? That's offensive. I'm hurt."
"AAAAH!"
Kaelan drew his sword—but Logan dodged easily and knocked him unconscious.
"We'll finish this talk later."
He turned to Captain Russell, who stood quietly nearby.
"Stay out of my way."
Just then, gunfire erupted from behind.
RATATATATAT—!
Logan deflected the bullets with his greatsword using incredible reflexes, then turned back to Russell—who raised his hands in surrender.
"I surrender."
Logan knocked Russell unconscious too, then looked up.
Eve stood on the ice wall, looking down at him with a bewildered expression.
"Alright—it's all over now, Eve."
He spread his arms wide.
"You can't go anywhere—come here."
