Home/My Youngest Keeps Bringing Me Male Leads/ch 71

Chapter 71

A few days earlier.

When Agnes had decided to go find Silmare.

Agnes had been holding Amy tightly, unsure of what to do.

"I'm sorry, Amy. You said you wanted to go to the forest with me. But tomorrow, I think I have to go find Silmare."

"It's okay."

"I keep being too busy to play with you—what should I do?"

"No, I'm fine!"

The more she said that, the more guilty Agnes felt, but Amy truly was fine.

Rather, it was an opportunity she'd been waiting for!

'Sister, Rupert, and Cesenor are all gone?'

That meant there was no one to quickly notice whatever Amy did or questioned her about it.

As soon as the three left by teleportation, Amy went to Rapitor, who was getting ready to go to the village.

"Rapitor!"

"Yeah, Amy. What's up?"

"Are you busy now?"

"I'm busy, but I can always make time for you."

Rapitor's golden eyes sparkled as he smiled on his dark face.

All the male leads were friendly to Amy.

Probably because she was a six-year-old who provided information that couldn't be obtained anywhere else.

"There's something I want to ask you..."

She'd agonized over it all night, but no matter how she thought about it, it wasn't something she could talk around.

Eventually deciding to just ask outright, Amy clung to Rapitor and whispered in his ear.

"Hey, how do you make a bomb?"

"What?"

Rapitor's expression, which had seemed as if he'd misheard, soon turned serious.

"Did you see some other strange future?"

He probably thought Amy had seen a frightening future.

'It is scary.'

Unable to explain in detail, Amy just shook her head.

"That's suspicious."

Rapitor cupped her cheeks and squished them as if examining her.

"Rapitor!"

"But a bomb, really... If you were an ordinary child, I'd never tell you."

Since he thought of her as a prophet, he seemed troubled.

His long tail swayed left and right, reflecting his confusion.

It was always fascinating and cute to see.

Without thinking, she reached out and grabbed his tail, and Rapitor jumped in surprise.

"Don't grab that!"

"Oh, sorry. Does it hurt?"

"It doesn't hurt, but it feels weird."

Smiling wryly, Rapitor patted Amy's head.

Knowing she meant no harm, he didn't scold her further, but scratched his chin in thought for a moment.

After making up his mind, he let out a deep sigh.

"Bombs are made with something called gunpowder."

"What's gunpowder?"

"You mix a white powder called saltpeter with ground charcoal, but that alone doesn't explode well. If you add a little sulfur and light it, it goes 'bang.'"

"What's sulfur?"

"It's used for a lot of things... but when making bombs, you only use a tiny bit."

"A tiny bit? Do you need a lot of saltpeter and charcoal?"

"Yeah."

"Do you have to use sulfur? Can't you do it without?"

"No. It won't explode otherwise. Wait, you're not actually trying to make a bomb, are you?"

"No."

Amy blinked her large eyes and shook her head.

Her curly blonde hair fluttered, which was cute, but it worried him just as much.

As much as he wanted to believe this innocent child wouldn't do that, it troubled him that she was curious about bombs in the first place.

On the way from Talvas, the dark elves' land, to Laverose.

Rapitor had seen Amy clinging to Rupert in fear every night.

He'd heard she often had nightmares and was so scared she didn't want to sleep.

She must be seeing things too heavy for a child to bear.

'Agnes and Amy are both so kind... I hope nothing happens to them.'

But even without the ability to foresee the future, he already knew that was impossible.

'With multiple Elixiums, Agnes is the only one.'

Just looking at Cesenor and Silmare, who had arrived earlier, their eyes for Agnes were already different.

'The mage doesn't seem to fully understand Agnes's value yet.'

On a continent where the history of the World Tree had been erased, her very meaning would have been buried under layers of time.

'Ah, damn it. This is why I hated being a Seed.'

The symbol of the Seed had been visible since birth.

When the adults around him saw it, they sighed, admired, feared, and rejoiced.

They all tried not to treat him specially, but they couldn't stop the occasional glances.

The disbelief that such a legendary story could be true.

The hope that perhaps a miracle might come to them.

'What's the point of being a Seed if I can't find my other half!'

After spending meaningless time grumbling like that, Amy suddenly appeared.

'Rapitor, you have a Seed on your hand, right?'

'I know who your other half is.'

At that moment.

It felt as if a heavy stone lodged in his chest had shattered.

At the same time, he was afraid of the Amy before him.

'How do you know that?'

'What kind of future did you see?'

'Why did you bring us all here?'

At least hoping Amy wouldn't be in danger, Rapitor locked eyes with her and warned her firmly.

"Anyway, bombs are very, very dangerous. So don't try to make one or mix things together, even if I told you how!"

"I won't. I said I won't."

Amy grinned and nodded as if to say trust me, then, with a look of realization, she quickly raised her index finger and pressed it to her lips.

"Is it a secret from my sister that I asked this?"

"Why?"

"Because she shouldn't worry."

Patting Amy's head gently, Rapitor promised he would.

He didn't forget that a child's 'secret' could always be told to a guardian, but he just had to pretend not to know in front of the child.

---

That afternoon.

The Capella Trading Company, based in Calben City, received an unusual guest.

"Let me see the head of the trading company."

The employee, who was busy attending to customers, blinked wide eyes, trying to understand the situation.

Before him was a young child.

A very small child who had barely learned to speak.

He could have dismissed it as a child's innocent nonsense, but the man standing behind her was quite remarkable.

This was the headquarters of the Capella Trading Company—a five-story building that handled various goods produced across the continent.

The ceilings were high to stack goods, and the man's height nearly reached them.

'Who is he?'

With a dark hood pulled low, the man's face wasn't visible, but since he stood as if escorting the child, he couldn't be ignored.

When the employee hesitated, the child added one more thing.

"Tell them I'm from Laverose."

A man with glasses approached from inside and asked.

"From the Laverose family...?"

He had a friendly face and seemed to have been watching them.

Kneeling on one knee to meet Amy's eyes, he asked again.

"Then would you be the youngest daughter I've only heard rumors about?"

"Yeah, that's me."

The man readily nodded.

"I'm Elias Keller, the branch manager in Calben City. The head of the trading company happens to be upstairs, so I'll go inform her."

Soon, Elias returned and relayed that the head would see them.

As she followed Elias upstairs, Amy grinned inwardly, pleased that her guess had been right.

'If I'd gone to another trading company, they probably would have ignored a child like me, right?'

Calben City, the largest commercial city in the south, was home to three major trading companies: Brook, Fence, and Capella.

Among them, the Capella Trading Company was more rooted in the lives of ordinary people than the others.

In particular, Vivian Capella, who had recently become the head, had a reformist bent, and it was her unique philosophy to start a publishing house and put out newspapers and gossip sheets.

Precious information shouldn't be hoarded—it should be shared.

So she thought they might listen to her, even as a child.

'I wasn't sure, but I'm glad they received me.'

Vivian had once helped Agnes due to her tendency to take on unusual challenges.

Though the results hadn't been good, given the angsty genre.

Amy glanced at Ignitan following behind and took his hand.

His hands were so large that her small hand could barely hold three of his fingers.

"Were you surprised?"

Ignitan silently nodded.

Of course he was.

She'd suddenly appeared and said she had to go to Calben City, using the excuse of playing in the forest.

Figuring she had her reasons, he'd offered to be her transport and carried her to Calben City.

But then she suddenly said she wanted to see the head of a trading company.

Even Ignitan, who wasn't familiar with the continent's affairs, knew this wasn't normal.

"She's not a bad person."

"I'm sure."

Even if she were, he could just pick up Amy and run if things went wrong.

In any case, he was curious about what this mysterious little girl was up to.
